One of the MOST common questions we get asked is what are our most popular scents.
The second most commonly asked question is what information should be included on your candle packaging.
Typically, there are two main "packaging" materials - your labels and your candle box. In this post, we're discussing candle boxes.
Below we detail the elements you should definitely include on your candle box, and what elements we recommend adding, too.
The essentials for your Candle Box
It's always a good idea to identify your product and business, so your customers know exactly what they're buying.
Your product identifier can be as simple as "candle" or as complex as "hand-poured soy wax candle with metal-free cotton wick".
For identifying your business, you should include the following details:
- Your business name
- Your business address
- Your business contact phone number
- Your business website or email address
These details will also be included on your CLP, so don't need to be listed twice, but it's always good practise to push your brand as much as possible!
Next, you'll want to detail your candles' net weight and burn time.
We list the weights of our White Label candles on each product listing for easy reference, however our 30cl candles typically have a 200g fill, which is around 7 oz.
Burn times for this size depend on the specifics, but between 45-50 hours should be expected.
Recommended information for your Candle Box
Other than the product identifiers discussed above, there isn't anything more required for your packaging.
That being said, we always suggest including some safety information on the box also. Something like the following is a great starting point:
- Never leave your candle unattended
- Always leave at least 10cm between lit candles
- Do not burn your candle on or near anything flammable
- Keep your candle secure and in an upright position, on a heat resistant, non-marking surface
- Always burn your flame out of reach of children or pets
The exact wording can be adjusted to fit your branding.
